The function of the exhaust and emission system is to muffle the engine noise while reducing harmful fuel vapors and exhaust pollutants. Service and Maintenance
With today’s computerized engine systems, maintaining your vehicle’s exhaust and emissions systems is best left to a professional technician. Have the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve inspected at the appropriate intervals according to your owner’s manual. If the system is not operating properly, your vehicle may be hard to start, running rough, be excessively noisy and emit harmful contaminants that will enter the environment.

Replacement exhaust parts are made out of various grades of metal and have different life expectancies. Today’s Original Equipment exhaust parts are typically made from stainless steel and should last a minimum of eight years.
